words from me....

Dear friends,

I don't really know what to say this week, I just want to say I know it's hard
trying to be a good Christian, making the right choices, and staying in prayer.
But when you love someone you do anything for them right? So if we love God more than ourselves,
more than our family, more than stuff, we must put all of our strength into it. Whether you feel like
it or not make every effort to pray for strength, wisdom, perseverance, patience, peace, and love. And always remember to say THANK YOU!

Do you really believe?

Love,

Kiki

challenge....

Dear friends,

This week I challenge you allow POSITIVE words to come out of your mouths.
When you feel the urge to criticize someone, laugh at someone, or have ANYTHING negetive
to say STOP! Try letting your thoughts be pure, as well as your words. It will be hard, but you can
do it!

Love,

Kiki

God is love

 From Sister Maxwell....

Let us all remember to seek to equip ourselves
and one another to do the work of God's ministry.
Let us live doctrinally sound lives that reflect
the Love of Christ.

Let us remember not to fall into the schemes
of the Evil One, for just as we have put on
Christ...seems Satan is right there to influence
us to Take Christ off!

Let us not be lead astray doctrinally through the study of the
Holy Word, and let us exhibit the character
of Christ in our daily living.

Do you know if the World is Pulling you
away from God instead of nearer to Him?

Let us use this test to look at our lives:

1. Do you feel that your life is characterized by "futility"
feelings of emptiness without purpose?

2. Do you feel your understanding of God's purpose
for you has been darkened because of personal
choices you have made. Have those choices caused
an weary attitud to not receive God's revelations--through
the reading of His Word?

3.  Is you life compartmentalized?  Is there a you Monday
thru Saturday and another you on Sunday? Have feelings
of alienation or separation from a life of God caused
you not to hear His "voice" and listen to your own?

4. Are you content being purposefully ignorant of God
and His truth and your heart has become calloused
and insensitive to God -- really having no fear of consequences
of your actions?

5. Have you allowed yourself to self-indulge in immorality
characterized by insatiable desires?

If you answer yes to any of the above questions, be careful
you may be walking as the Gentiles in Ephesians who were
futile in their ways, materialistic, and self-indulgent in their lifestyles.

And Hey, if you're reading this....There is Hope for All of Us!
In sitting at Jesus' Feet listening
to His voice through the reading of His Word,
We can see clearly NOW!!!
We can learn life-changing new truth in Christ!

And we Can Live a Godly Life of LIBERATION!  Hallelujah!

Ephesians 4 describes more of how to live a faith filled life
walking in Newness with God!  Don't believe the hype that
is in walking with Satan, you know He is still a Liar.

(PS..I've attached the Bible Reading Schedule for
the month of October...for delight!)

I love you with the Love of the Lord my Sister!

work out- outside!

Why Outdoor Workouts Work Better
By RealAge

Pounding away on a treadmill under fluorescent lights in a stuffy gym couldn't sound any less appealing. Until now. This workout choice may be holding your health back.

That's what exercise guru Tina Vindum, author of Outdoor Fitness, believes. In her book, she references several studies that suggest exercising in a natural environment is better for your mood and your health.

* On mood . . . one study found that outdoor joggers produced more of the feel-good brain chemical serotonin and had less anxiety and depression than folks who ran on indoor treadmills. Discover how an ancient Eastern philosophy may help you deal with negative emotions.
* On health . . . in another study, patients recovering from surgery needed less pain medication when their rooms had views of natural surroundings. And in a prison study, inmates with a view of sky, trees, and grass had significantly fewer headaches, digestive problems, and trips to the infirmary. Where does it hurt? Get tips and tricks for dealing with pain from the YOU Docs.

Onward and Outward
Vindum believes exercising outdoors -- especially in nature -- not only takes the boredom out of your workouts but also dramatically enhances vitality, confidence, and fitness. Read this article to find out if your workout is paying off the way it should.

How can you say you love God who you can't see, but don't show
love to your neighbors who you see everyday?

"A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this all men will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another." (NIV, John 13:34-35)

Jean-Michel Basquiat

Jean-Michel Basquiat (Dec 22, 1960- August 12, 1988) was an American artist and the first African-American painter to become an international art star. He gained popularity first as a graffiti artist in New York City and then as a successful 1980s-era Neo- expressionist artist. Basquiat's paintings continue to influence modern-day artists and sell for high prices.  Basquiat was born in Brooklyn, New York His mother, Matilde, was Puerto Rican and his father, Gerard Basquiat is of Haitian origin and a former Haitian Minister of the Interior. Because of his parents' nationalities, Basquiat was fluent in French, Spanish, and English from an early age. He read in these languages, including Symbolist poetry, mythology, and history. At an early age, Basquiat displayed an aptitude for art and was encouraged by his mother to draw, paint and to participate in other art-related activities. In 1977, when he was 17, Basquiat and his friend Al Diaz started spray-painting graffiti art on buildings in lower Manhattan, adding the infamous signature of "SAMO" (i.e., "same old shit") see: SAMO© Graffiti entry. The graphics were pithy messages such as "Plush safe he think.. SAMO" and "SAMO as an escape clause". In December 1978, the Village Voice published an article about the writings. The SAMO project ended with the epitaph "SAMO IS DEAD" written on the walls of Soho buildings.

words from me....

Aurora and Amour

Jesus Christ died for our sins, If it wasn't for him we would have no hope. The LEAST we can do is love each other. We hate each other because we are not happy with our lives, we are all so fortunate, and our thoughts are often shallow....

James 4:1-3 What causes fights and quarrels among you? Don't they come from your desires that battle within you? You want something but don't get it. You kill and covet, but you cannot have what you want. You quarrel and fight. You do not have because you do not ask, you do not receive, because you ask with wrong motives, that you may spend what you get on your pleasures.

boasting about tommorrow

 James 4:13 NIV

13Now listen, you who say, "Today or tomorrow we will go to this or that city, spend a year there, carry on business and make money." 14Why, you do not even know what will happen tomorrow. What is your life? You are a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes. 15Instead, you ought to say, "If it is the Lord's will, we will live and do this or that." 16As it is, you boast and brag. All such boasting is evil. 17Anyone, then, who knows the good he ought to do and doesn't do it, sins.

James 4:13-17 (King James Version)

13Go to now, ye that say, To day or to morrow we will go into such a city, and continue there a year, and buy and sell, and get gain:
14Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away.
15For that ye ought to say, If the Lord will, we shall live, and do this, or that.
16But now ye rejoice in your boastings: all such rejoicing is evil.
17Therefore to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin.

the new food pyramid

The Nutrition Source

Healthy Eating Pyramid

5 Quick Tips - Healthy Eating Pyramid
1. Start with exercise. A healthy diet is built on a base of regular exercise, which keeps calories in balance and weight in check.
2. Focus on food, not grams. The Healthy Eating Pyramid doesn’t worry about specific servings or grams of food, so neither should you. It’s a simple, general guide to how you should eat when you eat.
3. Go with plants. Eating a plant-based diet is healthiest.  Choose plenty of vegetables, fruits, whole grains, and healthy fats, like olive and canola oil.
4. Cut way back on American staples. Red meat, refined grains, potatoes, sugary drinks, and salty snacks are part of American culture, but they’re also really unhealthy. Go for a plant-based diet rich in non-starchy vegetables, fruits, and whole grains. And if you eat meat, fish and poultry are the best choices.
5. Take a multivitamin, and maybe have a drink. Taking a multivitamin can be a good nutrition insurance policy. Moderate drinking for many people can have real health benefits, but it's not for everyone. Those who don’t drink shouldn’t feel that they need to start. For more information, read "Alcohol: Balancing Risks and Benefits."

The Bottom Line

Use a food pyramid that’s actually based on the latest and best science.
Healthy Eating Pyramid
We can’t look at a pyramid  these days without thinking of food and healthy eating. There was the U.S. government’s Food Guide Pyramid, followed by its replacement, My Pyramid, which was basically the same thing, just pitched on its side. The problem was that these efforts, while generally well intentioned, have been quite flawed at actually showing people what makes up a healthy diet. Why? Their recommendations have often been based on out-of-date science and influenced by people with business interests in their messages.
But, there’s a better alternative: the Healthy Eating Pyramid, built by the faculty in the Department of Nutrition at the Harvard School of Public Health.  Based on the latest science, and unaffected by businesses and organizations with a stake in its messages, the Healthy Eating Pyramid is a simple, trustworthy guide to choosing a healthy diet. Its foundation is daily exercise and weight control, since these two related elements strongly influence your chances of staying healthy. The Healthy Eating Pyramid builds from there, showing that you should eat more foods from the bottom part of the pyramid (vegetables, whole grains) and less from the top (red meat, refined grains, sugary drinks).

challenge for the week

Have patience this week. When you find yourself rushing, worrying, waiting.....
Take a deep breath, Thank God for his love, and remember he knows your struggles.
Even if your waiting in line at the grocery, let the person behind you go in front!

Be patient.

words from me.....

Papa and me

Dear friends lets all stop our complaining. I do it, you do it, don't take
the time God gave us for granted. No matter what the circumstances, learn to be thankful
and focus on the blessings, not what you don't have, the bills, the problems. I'm praying to God
that I may live in peace, which means being happy with RIGHT NOW. If I were to live in the circumstances that I'm in now FOREVER, I am at peace with that. Can you say that about your life?
why not, you are but a mist that appears then vanishes, tomorrow may never come, and you would have spent the last of is saying, I need a job, where is my unemployment, I need money!!! ( That's what I worried about) Understand that I always set goals and aspirations and strive to do my best and provide a better life for my family, but I'm not worrying or complaining about how long it's taking to for God to provide- I've been good this far!  I know God is in charge, if I believe in him, why would I be biting my finger nails??

Material
Exceptions
Notes
Unbroken glass containers
Clear is the most valuable. Lids can go with metal.
Ceramics, pyrex, tablware, windows, lightbulbs, mirrors. Broken glass is hard to sort.
Only bottle glass is acceptable. Ceramics contaminate glass. Glass is normally color sorted for recycling.
Clean dry newspapers &
newspaper inserts

Rubber bands, plastic bags, product samples, water, dirt, mold or other contamination.
Pack newspapers tightly in large brown grocery sacks or tie with natural twine. Keep dry.
Empty metal cans, caps, lids, bands and foil
Full cans, spray cans unless instructed, cans with paint or hazardous waste.
Metals can be recycled again and again.
Plastic stamped #1 or #2
Some areas only accept clear plastic or certain shapes.
Plastic types #3, #4, #5, #6 or especially #7. Caps are usually a different type from the bottle - toss if unmarked.
Even a small amount of the wrong type of plastic can ruin a melt. Much plastic collected for recycling is actually landfilled.
Plastic stamped #3
Avoid. Contaminates other plastic recyling.
Toxic, especially if burned, see here.
Grocery bags, most clear plastic bags especially if marked #2 or #4. Also in many places bubble wrap and padded bubble envelopes.
Paper, water, dirt, mold or other contamination.
Reduce your need; reuse bags until they're torn. Use old bags to pick up dog waste. Many grocery stores have a barrel for recycling old bags. Since most of this gets mixed with sawdust to make plastic wood, padded bubble envelopes are OK (though not everyone knows this).
Mixed paper: junk mail, magazines, photocopies, computer printouts, cereal/shoe boxes, etc. (some places also take corrugated cardboard and phone books)
Stickers, napkins, tissues, waxed paper, milk cartons, carbon paper, laminated paper (fast food wraps, some food bags, drink boxes, foil), neon paper, thermal fax paper. Any wet or food stained paper.
When in doubt, throw it out.

Paper fiber can be recycled about 7 times before it gets too small. Plastic window envelopes are ok.
"Paper" milk cartons
Rinse quickly & fully open top. These are NOT acceptable in many recycling programs, due to contamination, odor, and the thin plastic liner.
See www.recyclecartons.com. Often cartons are "recycled" via composting.
Scrap aluminum such as lawn chairs, window frames and pots
Metal parts attracted to magnets. Non-metal parts.
Aluminum is not attracted to magnets.
There is no need to remove labels or bands from cans and bottles. Clean only enough to prevent odors. Do not recycle containers with traces of hazardous materials. Do not recycle dirty or food stained paper.
Motor oil (never dump into storm drains) and Tires.
Call your garbage company, local quick-lube, tire shop or call 1-800-MOTOROIL. Old oil and old tires are serious problems.
Automotive batteries, sealed lead/gel-cell batteries
Keep lead out of the environment; take to an automotive or security dealer for recycling or trade in.
Rechargeable batteries (cordless phone, camcorder, shaver, portable appliance, computer, etc.)
Call 1-800-8BATTERY for information. Throw alkaline and heavy duty batteries in trash unless prohibited (See California Universal Waste Note. Nickel-Cadmium rechargeable batteries contain toxins, please recycle.
Laser/Ink printer cartridges
Send to one of the many recyclers or refillers.
Household toxics (paints, oils, solvents, pesticides, cleaners)
Call your garbage company for advice. Do not dump into storm drains.
Computers, eyeglasses, household goods
Donate to charity. Give to a repair shop.
This is world's shortest comprehensive USA/Canada recycling guide. Contains generalizations; local procedures may differ. From the Consumer Recycling Guide, "www.obviously.COM/recycle/". ©1997-2006 Evergreen Industries. Remember: Unless you buy recycled products, you are not recycling.

very important

2 Timothy 23 Don't have anything to do with foolish and stupid arguments, because you know they produce quarrels. 24 And the Lord's servant must not quarrel; instead, he must be kind to everyone, able to teach, not resentful.

love

www.rojo-magazine.com/projects/

1Thessalonians 3:12 May the Lord make your love increase and overflow for each other and for everyone else, just as ours does for you. May he strengthen your hearts so that you will be blameless and holy in the presence of our God and Father when our Lord Jesus comes with all his holy ones.

money

a sunset in the north pole

1 Timothy 7 For we brought nothing into the world, and we can take nothing out of it. But
if we have food and clothing, we will be content with that. People who want to get rich fall into temptation and a trap and into many foolish and harmful desires that plunge men into ruin and destruction. For the love of money is the root of all kinds of evil. Some people, eager for money, have wandered from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs.

17 command those who are rich in this present world not to be arrongant nor to put their hope in wealth, which is so uncertain, but to put their hope in God, who richly provides us with everything for our enjoyment. Command them to do good, to be rich in good deeds, and to be generous and willing to share. In this way they will lay up treasure for themselves as a firm foundation for the coming age, so that they may take hold of the life that is truly life.
