challenge





My dear friends, the challenge for this week is to help a stranger. Recently my father in law was
in an accident. I thank God no one was injured. To make a long story short, a good samaritan gave him
a ride to his destination, and made sure he was taken care of. Many people I know have friends and family who wouldn't give them a helping hand like this samaritan did.

For this week, help someone one you don't know. Open the door for a mother with her stroller, volunteer at a food bank, offer to carry someones groceries. Just do something nice:)


Luke 10:30-37 Jesus answered, "A certain man was going down from Jerusalem to Jericho, and he fell among robbers, who both stripped him and beat him, and departed, leaving him half dead. By chance a certain priest was going down that way. When he saw him, he passed by on the other side.  In the same way a Levite also, when he came to the place, and saw him, passed by on the other side. "No, you first, my friend."








Humility

Humility or humbleness is a quality of being courteously respectful of others. It is the opposite of aggressiveness, arrogance, boastfulness, and vanity. Rather than, "Me first," humility allows us to say, "No, you first, my friend." Humility is the quality that lets us go more than halfway to meet the needs and demands of others.

Friendships and marriages are dissolved over angry words. Resentments divide families and co-workers. Prejudice separates race from race and religion from religion. Reputations are destroyed by malicious gossip. Greed puts enmity between rich and poor. Wars are fought over arrogant assertions.

Humility as a virtue is a major theme of both the Old and New Testaments. Why do qualities such as courtesy, patience and deference have such a prominent place in the Bible? It is because a demeanor of humility is exactly what is needed to live in peace and harmony with all persons. Humility dissipates anger and heals old wounds. Humility allows us to see the dignity and worth of all God's people. Humility distinguishes the wise leader from the arrogant power-seeker.

Acting with humility does not in any way deny our own self worth. Rather, it affirms the inherent worth of all persons. Some would consider humility to be a psychological malady that interferes with "success." However, wealth, power or status gained at the expense of others brings only anxiety -- never peace and love.


By humility we acknowledge that God created us for his purposes and not for our self-glorification. By humility we acknowledge the dignity of all God's people. By humility we cool the angry passions of others. By humility we can turn enemies into friends.

A humble demeanor is not a denial of our worth as individuals. Rather, it is the tool that allows us, insofar as possible, to be on good terms with all persons.






Anger and Revenge

No one makes us angry. Anger is our own emotional response to some action or event. More often than not, our angry feelings are based on a misinterpretation of what someone said or did. Expressing anger tends to prolong and reinforce our anger rather than purge it. Angry words and actions are much more likely to escalate hostilities and block communication than to solve a problem. Whether between parent and child, spouses, friends, or nations, expressions of anger divide us and drive us toward open hostility.

It is all too easy to react to life's annoyances and disappointments with anger. It is far more challenging, but much better, to react with understanding and empathy. In this way, we can quickly settle disputes and avoid turning minor incidents into major battles. The humble demeanor is a perfect tool for avoiding disputes and hard feelings.

A fool always loses his temper, but a wise man holds it back. (NAS, Proverbs 29:11)

My friends, I don't belive in depression. I have struggled with depression and anxiety my whole life. I have been on medication, I've tried alcohol, excersize, and counseling. When I REALLy let God take
care of it, it REALLY went away. I recetly had a baby and struggled with post pardum depression. I was incouraged to seek counceling, and take meds yet agian. This time, I wanted to turn to something else. I didn't want to put chemicals in my body, and I didn't want to use time out of my day complaining to someone I didn't know. ( No disrespect to counselors) I know that depression is a mental thing, and I know it can be conquered. In other words; it's not real, it's just in your head.

So I LEARNED to let God take care of it. It's not easy, you must learn to let go of pain in your life through growing a close relationship with him. I am living proof of that. So if you are struggling with
depression or anxiety, do what I did. Let go and let God.


For those of you who have depression here is how I think:

When I begin to feed the baby, a strong feeling comes over me. I'ts like all the happiness is being sucked out of me, and I can litaraly feel pain in my hands, and arms. I close my eyes take a deep breath, and remember it's in my head. I look around and I see a roof over my head, a beautiful family, and food on the table. What do I have to be depressed about? And even when I go through storms in my life I know the secret.

2 Corinthians 12:9 "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weakness, so  that Christ's power may rest on me. That is why, for Christ's sake, I delight in weakness, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong.

Before you read this take a breath and clear your mind from all negativity. I want you to take this
to heart and know you can do ALL THINGS through him. It is possible to
reach a euphoria through your mind, but it takes practice, and Christian maturity.
Your mind is a beautiful thing, and you can literally become high using your mind, many
people don't know how powerful God has made our minds, and the extraordinary things
we can do with it, just tap into it...





There is a feeling that all humans enjoy. This feeling is called "being high." Once a person has experienced a high they want to experience it again and again. Why do people try to get "high" through alternative means?

Unfortunately it is because most people experienced a high for the first time by drinking, or using drugs, or some other alternate means. It is a sad thing that they can only experience a high when they use these destructive methods to try to re-experience that


 high.

There is a real high, a natural high that you can experience. It is a similar high as the one achieved by artificial stimulus, but without the destructive side effects. This real high lasts longer and is far more satisfying than fake highs, and these reality highs can be consistently reproduced.

A fake high, lasts only as long as the chemical effects allow. This causes people to have to become drug addicts, or alcoholics to maintain the experience. This lifelong addiction to the artificial stimulus to experience a high is destructive. The chemicals cause one to lose functions of the body and spirit. A real lose of not just motor control but mental control as well. The chemicals have other side effects such as health problems, money problems social problems and so on.

Similar to the fake high, a real high can last for as long as you can maintain it. Once it is achieved you can enjoy the high without any destructive side effects. Rather than a loss of motor skills they become enhanced, instead of pickling your internal organs they function more efficiently, and so on. So why don't people go for the real high? Because they don't know how to achieve a true high, no body has ever taught them.

So what does cause a natural high? The answer is surprisingly simple, easy to learn, yet so seemingly hard to master. Natural highs take place when a trio of emotions comes together: pleasure, well-being, and happiness.

Pleasure is an idiosyncratic perception by an individual based on the five primary senses. The experience is highly individual, for example two people can look at a butterfly; one sees beauty in motion the other sees a bug. Two People listen to a song, one hears music the other hears noise, and so on for all the senses.

Well-being is the feeling that all is right and correct with you and your world. Feeling comfortable that everything, for the moment, is the way it should be.

Happiness is an emotion, and like all emotions it is difficult to give a definitive explanation of it. Happiness differs from the other emotions as it is the one you can choose. You can at any time choose to be happy, and that emotion will push out whatever other emotions you are experiencing.

Natural highs involve the release of physical and emotional tensions while still being fully aware of the mind and body: The sensation of "letting go" without guilt or reservation. This process of creating your own euphoria is a feeling, that once achieved will never be forgotten.

You probably have a memory or two of natural highs. If you examine them you will discover that these natural highs occurred when you were experiencing freedom. Free from guilt, free from being controlled by something or someone else. Here is a key, so pay attention. Freedom is being in control: of your self, of your own destiny, and of your own reality. If you are living honestly and rationally; you have an acute sense of the physical and psychological process of living. That clarity and control of self, life, and reality; is what leads to the ability to "let go" and to produce a truly exhilarating physical as well as emotional high.

The amazing part of all this is; natural highs come from within. You are the creator of your own euphoria, you are the only one who can experience this high, and you are the only one who can create it. Realize this; you are the only person living in your skin. Therefore it is only you who can feel what you feel, you are the one who can choose what you feel and when. To have a real high you must be free.

To give up your freedom; to surrender your life, happens when you ask other people to solve your problems and give you happiness. Do you know what you get when you do that? You get told: To get a job so you can buy your own twelve packs. Is that how you want to live, from twelve pack to twelve pack?

You are responsible for your own self; you are solely responsible for your own actions. You must choose for yourself; to live your life, to solve your own problems, to be honest with your self, to be happy. To choose differently results in loss of freedom and therefore the loss of happiness.

A natural high is a here and now, self induced feeling. You must simply know when you are as well a where you are. Then add in pleasure, some well-being, and some happiness; then let go, and you will experience a real high.

For those of you who are not into art but respect it- here are somethings to look for in Gustav's paintings,
and reasons why I love his work; paint strokes, use of color- using shape and color to add texture- composition- concept- and his signature sketches of the human body. I used the first painting as an inspiration for my senior thesis. Painting is a hobby of mine, so I'm not a painting connoisseur or anything, those are aspects of his work that I personally like!

Tea Information and Types of Tea

Tea is the second most consumed beverage behind water. There must be something special about this brewed beverage. If we are to discuss tea and the different types of teas, we must first cover what it actually is.

What is Tea?

Tea is basically the dried and processed leaves of only one species of plant called camellia sinensis. Interestingly enough, herbal teas or herbal infusions are not really teas, but simply dried leaves and/or flowers from various other plants and herbs.
Even though all teas come from only one species, there are three major varietals:
The China – Small leaves and generally thrives at higher altitudes.
The India (or Assam) – Larger leaves and generally thrives at lower altitudes.
The Hybrid – Kind of in-between the Chinese and Indian.
Earlier, I talked about the processing of the camellia’s leaves. There are four main methods of processing and each produces a different type of tea. These four main types are:

Sometimes, tea is sold as a blend of some combination of the four main types listed above. Teas can also be flavored with oils or scented with flower petals during the processing stage. They can also be combined with fruits and spices.

And now I will show you the most excellent way.

13 If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. If I give all I possess to the poor and surrender my body to the flames, but have not love, I gain nothing.
 Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it i not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs, Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
 Love never fails. But where there are prophesies, they will cease; where there is knowledge, it will pass away. For we know in part and we prophesy in part, but when perfection comes, the imperfection disappears.

We all think eating fruits means just buying fruits, cutting it and just popping it into our mouths. It's not as easy as you think. It's important to know how and when to eat.
What is the correct way of eating fruits?
IT MEANS NOT EATING FRUITS AFTER YOUR MEALS!  FRUITS SHOULD BE EATEN ON AN EMPTY STOMACH.
If you eat fruit like that, it will play a major role to detoxify your system, supplying you with a great deal of energy for weight loss and other life activities.
FRUIT IS THE MOST IMPORTANT FOOD. Let's say you eat two slices of bread and then a slice of fruit. The slice of fruit is ready to go straight through the stomach into the intestines, but it is prevented from doing so.
In the meantime the whole meal rots and ferments and turns to acid. The minute the fruit comes into contact with the food in the stomach and digestive juices, the entire mass of food begins to spoil....
So please eat your fruits on an empty stomach or before your meals! You have heard people complaining - every time I eat watermelon I burp, when I eat during my stomach bloats up, when I eat a banana I feel like running to the toilet etc - actually all this will not arise if you eat the fruit on an empty stomach. The fruit mixes with the putrefying other food and produces gas and hence you will bloat!
Graying hairbaldingnervous outburst, and dark circles under the eyes all these will NOT happen if you take fruits on an empty stomach.
There is no such thing as some fruits, like orange and lemon are acidic, because all fruits become alkaline in our body, according to Dr. Herbert Shelton who did research on this matter.  If you have mastered the correct way of eating fruits, you have the Secret of beauty, longevity, health, energy, happiness and normal weight.
When you need to drink fruit juice - drink only fresh fruit juice, NOT from the cans. Don't even drink juice that has been heated up. Don't eat cooked fruits because you don't get the nutrients at all. You only get to taste. Cooking destroys all the vitamins.
But eating a whole fruit is better than drinking the juice. If you should drink the juice, drink it mouthful by mouthful slowly, because you must let it mix with your saliva before swallowing it. You can go on a 3-day fruit fast to cleanse your body. Just eat fruits and drink fruit juice throughout the 3 days and you will be surprised when your friends tell you how radiant you look!
KIWI: Tiny but mighty. This is a good source of potassium, magnesium, vitamin E & fiber. Its vitamin C content is twice that of an orange.

A serious note about heart attacks HEART ATTACK PROCEDURE': (THIS IS NOT A JOKE!) Women should know that not every heart attack symptom is going to be the left arm hurting. Be aware of intense pain in the jaw line.. You may never have the first chest pain during the course of a heart attack. Nausea and intense sweating are also common symptoms. Sixty percent of people who have a heart attack while they are asleep do not wake up. Pain in the jaw can wake you from a sound sleep. Let's be careful and be aware. The more we know the better chance we could survive...

Dancing With God  
When I meditated on the word  Guidance,  
I kept seeing "dance" at the end of the word.  
I remember reading that doing God's will is a lot like dancing.  
When two people try to lead, nothing feels right.  
The movement doesn't flow with the music,  
and everything is quite uncomfortable and jerky.  
When one person realizes that, and lets the other lead,  
both bodies begin to flow with the music.  
One gives gentle cues, perhaps with a nudge to the back  
or by pressing Lightly in one direction or another.  
It's as if two become one body, moving beautifully.  
The dance takes surrender, willingness,  
and attentiveness from one person  
and gentle guidance and skill from the other.  
My eyes drew back to the word  Guidance..  
When I saw "G": I thought of God, followed by "u" and "i".  
"God, "u" and "i" dance."  
God, you, and I dance.  
As I lowered my head, I became willing to trust  
that I would get  guidance about my life.  
Once again, I became willing to let God lead.  
My prayer for you today is that God's blessings  
and mercies are upon you on this day and everyday.  
May you abide in God, as God  abides in you.  
Dance together with God, trusting God to lead  
and to guide you through each season of your life.  
This prayer is powerful and there is nothing attached.  
If God has done anything for  you in your life,  
please share this message with someone else.  
There is no cost but a lot of rewards;  
so let's continue to pray for one another.

Just try it!!!!




 If you're anything like me you don't go to the gym, you don't jog in the morning, and you don't take yoga. One day I will discipline my self to have a steady work out routine, but until then, I will try to do practical and convenient workouts. I will research various  short work outs that people like me can do that are easy, and fun! No gym member ship or work out tape necessary! Lets start with a jump rope.

Seriously…most people have just played around with a jump rope back in Elementary School. A lot of people think of jumping rope as more of a game or a kid's toy…the ironic thing is that it is actually an extremely effective form of exercise. Almost every person I know could easily walk at a brisk pace for 15 minutes, but I bet less than 1% of the population could jump rope for that long.
So What Muscle Groups Does Jumping Rope Target?
The answer is just about every muscle in the body. I think it works muscles that rarely get used. After my first time jumping rope, I was sore in many muscle groups…especially in the calf muscles and abs. In fact, if you are really trying to get ripped abs, jumping rope will help big-time. Your core really gets worked hard since your abs have to contract to stabilize your entire body as it propels through the air.
Jumping Rope Helps Release Your Fat Burning Hormone (HGH).
HGH is a hormone that your body releases naturally, which burns body fat like crazy. Increasing your natural level of HGH in your body is your quickest route to burning body fat. Unfortunately, low intensity cardio won't assist your body in releasing HGH. How to Get The Correct Adjustment on Your Jump Rope
  • Place Your Jump Rope on the Ground
  • Stand on the Midpoint of the Rope (an equal distance between the handles)
  • Grasp the Handles and Pull them to Your Chest While Standing on the Rope
  • The Top of the Handles Should Reach About 6 Inches Below the Collar Bone (not as high as the collar bone or as low as the upper abs…If in doubt, go a bit too long and shorten the rope a bit as you get more experienced)
Learning the Skill of Jumping Rope, Your First Two Weeks of the Program
Most beginners "double bounce" in between rotations. This actually allows them to rest their core a bit as well as their calf muscles in between rotations and means that they have a low level of core fitness. You will want to jump cleanly in between each rotation and keep the abs and core tight.
Your arms should barely move when you jump rope. The rotation of the rope should come from wrist movement. If you want to increase the speed of the rotations, simply increase the tightness of the circles that your wrist is making (this will make more sense when you start jumping rope). The goal of your first two weeks of jumping rope is to eventually work up to a point where you can jump rope for 5 minutes solid without having to stop and start again. This means that if you have to stop because the rope hits your feet, you have to start again from zero. You also want to be able to jump rope alternating feet, so it looks like you are running while jumping rope.

Okay seriously, ask yourself- are you REALLY happy??
Do yourself a big favor, and fix yourself before you try and fix others. I am not
here to tell anybody what to do, I just want to help you as I help myself. I too have my
daily struggles, I get angry a stupid things, I don't exercise enough, and I worry about 
things that I have no control over from time to time. To love others you too must love yourself.
Take care of yourself, and give your body what it needs. Being healthy is just 
a part of it. Love is such a small word, but it's meaning is powerful and most people
don't know what it really is. Love is an overwhelming energy that comes from 
God, and it's unconditional. Can you really say you love your enemies? Probly not, I know 
it's hard, but if you can learn to love EVERYBODY,  I promise you, you will feel
the greatest feeling you have ever felt in your life!!!! Try it for a day and tell me I'm lying.
For one day out of your whole life just change- when you wake up in the morning thank God, 
and don't complain about being tired, eat a well balanced breakfast, skip the t.v. and read the news.
Go to work and say hello and smile to EVERYONE you catch eye contact with, even your annoying coworkers, and boss. Ask your coworkers how they are, think of others instead of yourself. If something goes wrong during the day, wait before you get upset and think, is it really worth it to get all worked up. Breath, and trust in God, it will be okay.
When you get home eat a well balanced dinner, ask your loved ones how their day went. Then
treat your self with a bowl of icecream and a bubble bath with candles. If you gotta skip a t.v. show to do it, it's worth it. Before you go to bed give thanks, don't ask for anything he knows what you need, and pray for others. Just try it for a day!!!!!!!!
'Fake it before you make it' In other words, if you go on everyday, and act like
the problems and worries you have don't bother you, eventually they really wont. 
Learning to love is hard work, but with God anything is possible. And when you try
everyday to be nice to people, and they aren't  nice back don't be discouraged, just know
Jesus had it much worse than you did.
