slow to speak quick to listen
Dear friends, when someone is speaking to you listen. Do not be so proud, do not be rude. Even when you disagree, listen first, then calmly respond. Be open to all who have advice to share, you never know what you can learn- young or old. Show love to your neighbors, and kill evil with kindness.
James 1:19 My dear brothers, take note of this: Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry, for man’s anger does not bring about the righteous life that God desires.

love
Love is patient,
Love is kind.
It does not envy,
It does not boast,
It is not proud.
It is not rude,
It is not self-seeking,
It is not easily angered,
It keeps no record of wrongs.
Love does not delight in evil
But rejoices with the truth.
It always protects,
Always trusts,
Always hopes,
Always perseveres.
Love does not fail.
God bless 9.11 victims, family members, and all involved. Say a prayer for them.
honey
benefits of honey
Skin
Honey is extremely nourishing for the skin when used as face pack and helps in rejuvenating the skin leading to the elimination of fine wrinkles.
It is a good moisturiser.
Honey has considerable Laxative effect on the human digestion system which in turn helps in reducing skin problem ie (pimples) and other problems associated with constipation, which become revealed on the skin.

Antibacterial and antifungal properties
Honey contains many minerals and vitamins beneficial to man. However, one of the most important properties seems to be its antibiotic action.
Honey has been shown to be superior to certain conventional antibiotics in treating some infections.
This bactericide (bacteria-killing) property of honey is named "the inhibition effect". Experiments conducted on honey show that its bactericide properties increase twofold when diluted with water. It is very interesting to note that newly born bees in the colony are nourished with diluted honey by the bees responsible for their supervision - as if they know this feature of the honey.
Healing wounds & grazes
Honey is of value in treating burns, infected surgical wounds and ulcers. Honey is very viscous, enabling it to absorb water from surrounding inflamed tissue. For example, a study in West Africa showed that skin grafting, surgical debridement and even amputation were avoided when local application of honey to wound promoted healing, whereas conventional treatment failed.
For such wounds or Grazes, cover the wound with honey and a bandage.
Diarrhoea
At a concentration of 40%, honey has a bactericidal effect on various gut bacteria known to cause diarrhoea and dysentery
Allergies
Raw honey is an excellent treatment for 90% of all allergies.
Teeth
Although Honey is sweet, it helps to maintain and protect teeth! Its anti-microbial activity has been tested on several species of dental plaque bacteria. A study shows that honey has been proven to sharply reduce acid production, thus killing the bacteria responsible for dental caries, and blocking the growth of oral bacteria.
Stomach Ache
Take 1 teaspoon of honey, juice of a lemon with a hot glass of water first thing in the morning.
Colds and coughs
Honey is remedial in cases of persistent coughs and sore throat. The strong antibiotic properties it contains coats the throat and reduces throat irritation.
Mix 6 oz. liquid honey, 2 oz. glycerin with juice of 2 lemons. Bottle and cork firmly. Use as required.
For Blocked noses, Place a dessert spoon of honey in a basin of hot water and inhale fumes after covering your head with a towel over the basin.
For Sore throats, Let 1 teaspoon of honey melt in the back of the mouth and trickle down the throat. Eases inflamed raw tissues.
Uneasiness felt in the mouth & throat due to infection can be relieved immediately with honey, so there is extensive scope for honey in cough mixtures & expectorants.

Honey used for children helps inflammatory throat conditions as it both purifies blood.
Digestion
Because sugar molecules in honey can convert into other sugars (e.g. fructose to glucose), honey is easily digested by the most sensitive stomachs, despite its high acid content. It helps kidneys and intestines to function better. Hence honey is beneficial for maintaining a healthy digestive system as well as combating illnesses such as constipation.
For poor digestion, Mix 1:1 honey with apple cider vinegar and dilute to taste with water.
For patients suffering with various maladies of stomach who consume 10 grams of honey on an empty stomach in the morning & not eat anything thereafter for about 1 hour, will start feeling relief from the disorders within a few days.

Weight control
Honey has a low calorie content. Honey, when it is compared with the same amount of sugar, it gives 40% less calories to the body. Although it gives great energy to the body, it does not add weight.

humility
1peter 3:8 Finally all of you, live in harmony with one another; be sympathetic, love as brothers, be compassionate and humble. Do not repay evil with evil or insult with insult, but with blessing, because to this you were called that you may inherit a blessing. For,
" Whoever would love life and see good days must keep his tongue from evil and his lips from
deceitful speech. He must turn form evil and do good; he must seek peace and pursue it. For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous and his ears are attentive to their prayer, but the face of the Lord is against those who do evil."
1peter 5:6 Humble yourselves, therefore, under God's mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time. Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.
love your skin
Cocoa butter
Pregnant women have long used to cocoa butter formulations to prevent and treat stretch marks, but this pleasant-smelling substance is added to countless other topical preparations as well.
Lotions and oils containing cocoa butter are often used in aromatherapy massages to promote feelings of relaxation and well-being. Recent research indicates that massaging the skin with cocoa butter may help relieve stress, boost the immune system, and even prevent cancer. This is because cocoa butter, like chocolate, contains a lot of CMP.
vitamin e
Vitamin E Oil - A Nighttime Beauty Aid for Wrinkles and Dry Skin
After you have removed your make up at night, apply a drop of Vitamin E Oil to your fingertip. Gently rub this natural beauty aid on Crow's Feet around your eyes, on wrinkles around your lips, on any problem skin areas you have on your face. (Do not use it on oily skin.) You can actually apply a little Vitamin E Oil to your entire face- just keep it out of your eyes- to help make your dry skin soft and moisturized.
aloe vera
Many ancient works, including the Bible, refer to the use of aloe. One of the first documented users of aloe vera was Cleopatra, who lived from 68 to 30 B.C. She is said to have used the gel on her skin as protection from the sun, and to have thought the gel helped to keep her skin young-looking. In fact, the Egyptians may have used aloe vera in their embalming of bodies, among other uses.
About the year Six B.C., Dioscorides, a Greek physician, discovered aloe vera was effective in treating a wide range of ailments, from kidney problems and constipation, to severe burns of the skin.
Today aloe vera continues to be widely used around the world. Studies have shown that aloe vera speeds the healing process, particularly in burns, including those from radiation. It is also used by dermatologists to speed healing after facial dermabrasion, which removes scars from the skins top layers.
oatmeal
Colloidal oatmeal, which is oatmeal converted to a fine powder, has been used for thousands of years to cure itchiness. Keep in mind that this type of oatmeal cannot be eaten! Its natural properties are hailed by the US Food and Drug Administration, an organization hesitant to call anything natural before careful scientific study. Oatmeal has been proven to protect the skin and provide relief towards itching. In addition, it is an excellent irritation healer. When insect bites and poisonous plants ravage your skin, oatmeal can be used to relieve these skin rashes.
Enthusiasts also used oatmeal powder in hot baths. When you add oatmeal powder into your warm bathwater, the water turns milky which allows the oatmeal to disperse rather than settle to the bottom. In addition to its healing properties, immersing yourself in a tub of oatmeal powder feels great. Remember, run your bathwater to hot and add a pack of oatmeal right under the faucet (instead of heaving it in there) to help spread the oatmeal around. Keep the water lukewarm rather than hot. Hot baths will only dehydrate your skin and strip it of its essential oils. Soak in the oatmeal bath for no more than 20 minutes and be careful when you step out, as the tub will become slippery. Opt to pat or blot your skin dry rather than rubbing your skin to keep the moisture intact.
Challenge for this week
Dear friends,
Your challenge for this week is to call an old friend. Ask your friend how they have been and most importantly either invite them to church, or share good news about God. Tell your friend what God has done for you, slip it in somehow you don't have to be weird about it..lol.

God created the earth... take care of it
God created our earth, the beasts, and the birds of the air. Lets do our job to go green, save the rain forest, save the animals, and save the planet.
" As long as the earth endures,
seedtime and harvest,
cold and heat,
summer and winter,
day and night
will never cease."
Genesis 8:22

What’s the problem?
According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the world population is expanding at a mind-boggling rate. The world reached 1 billion people in 1800; 2 billion by 1922; and over 6 billion by 2000. It is estimated that the population will swell to over 9 billion by 2050. That means that if the world’s natural resources were evenly distributed, people in 2050 will only have 25% of the resources per capita that people in 1950 had. The world has a fixed amount of natural resources - some of which are already depleted. So as population growth greatly strains our finite resources, there are fewer resources available. If we intend to leave our children and grandchildren with the same standard of living we have enjoyed, we must preserve the foundation of that standard of living. We save for college educations, orthodontia, and weddings, but what about saving clean air, water, fuel sources and soil for future generations?
Some of the greatest threats to future resources come from things we throw away everyday. Household batteries and electronics often contain dangerous chemicals that may, if sent to a local landfill, leak through the bottom barrier and pollute the groundwater. This can contaminate everything from the soil in which our food grows, to the water which will eventually come out of aquifers and into our tap water. Many of these chemicals cannot be removed from the drinking water supply, nor from the crops that are harvested from contaminated fields. The risks to human health are tremendous.
Throwing away items that could be recycled diminishes energy, water and natural resources that could be saved by recycling.
Did you know...
- For every ton of paper that is recycled, the following is saved: 7,000 gallons of water; 380 gallons of oil; and enough electricity to power an average house for six months.
- You can run a TV for six hours on the amount of electricity that is saved by recycling one aluminum can.
- By recycling just one glass bottle, you save enough electricity to power a 100-watt bulb for four hours.

words from me.......
My fiance' Chris and I went to Virginia to visit his granny and great granny!! His granny is holding
our daughter in this picture. Beautiful.
I had some thoughts about why we carry around pain. I think that bad energy is evil, I also think evil makes you sin. When we are vulnerable evil takes advantage of us in that state. For instance; you get fired from your job and it's the worst thing that can happen. If you don't pray and remind yourself of how blessed you are and have faith another job will come around you will carry it on your back. 1 peter 5: 8 .. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. Resist him standing firm in the faith, because you know that your brothers throughout the world are undergoing the same kind of sufferings. When bad things happen it's important to release the bad energy that has entered your soul by giving thanks, and letting go. If you don't it stays with you, and could come out when you least expect it. The more we hold on to things that have made us angry in the past, or hold on to things that have hurt us the harder it is to let new problems go. Have you ever over reacted over something little, or took your anger out on someone else?? Of course you have, it's because of the anger and pain we carry around from something that happened THAT YOU PROBABLY DON'T EVEN REMEMBER.
It's difficult to just let go of problems in our lives because it's something that you learn. That's why it's so hard to love, let go of our hurt, that's why we hurt each other. Just know that God is love and he will comfort you, just let him in.

body language
Dear friends, we must remember to always give positive vibes. Our communication
with others is a huge part of generating good energy. Body language is very important
because we use our bodies more than our words to communicate. The article that I found below
gives info about how we use body language, and how to read it. Sometimes we have to
hide our negative energy behind positive body language. You may
feel like your being fake when you have a happy face on a bad day, it's not. Using
positive body language even when we aren't feeling positive, brings the good energy back
into your soul. If you act like you are better, it will strengthen your will to become better.
Definition
Body language is a form of non-verbal communication, consisting of body pose, gestures, eye movements and paralinguistic cues(i.e. tone of voice and rate of speech). Humans send and interpret such signals unconsciously. It is often said that human communication consists of 93% body language and paralinguistic cues, while only 7% of communication consists of words themselves - however, Albert Mehrabian, the researcher whose 1960s work is the source of these statistics, has stated that this is a misunderstanding of the findings (see Misinterpretation of Mehrabian's rule). Others assert that "Research has suggested that between 60 and 70 percent of all meaning is derived from nonverbal behavior."
Body Language
Understanding non-verbal communication
Have you ever been in the situation when you really didn't believe what someone was saying? Did you have a sense that something didn't ring true or a gut feeling that all was not right? Perhaps they were saying ‘Yes' yet their heads were shaking ‘No'?
The difference between the words people speak and our understanding of what they are saying comes from non-verbal communication, otherwise known as "body language". By developing your awareness of the signs and signals of body language, you can more easily understand other people, and more effectively communicate with them.
There are sometimes subtle – and sometimes not so subtle – movements, gestures, facial expressions and even shifts in our whole bodies that indicate something is going on. The way we talk, walk, sit and stand all say something about us, and whatever is happening on the inside can be reflected on the outside.
By becoming more aware of this body language and understanding what it might mean, you can learn to read people more easily. This puts you in a better position to communicate effectively with them. What's more, by increasing your understanding of others, you can also become more aware of the messages that you convey to them.
There are times when we send mixed messages – we say one thing yet our body language reveals something different. This non-verbal language will affect how we act and react to others, and how they react to us.
This article will explain many of the ways in which we communicate non-verbally, so that you can use these signs and signals to communicate more effectively.
First Impressions and Confidence
Recall a time when you met someone new at work. Or think about the last time you watched a speaker deliver a presentation.
What were your first impressions? Did you sense confidence or a lack of confidence in them? Did you want to associate with them or not? Were you convinced by them?
Did they stride into the room, engage you and maintain eye contact or were they tentative, shuffling towards you with eyes averted, before sliding into a chair? What about their handshake – firm and strong or weak and limp?
Moving along in the conversation, did they maintain solid eye contact or were they frequently looking away? Did their face appear relaxed or was it tight and tense? What about their hand and arm movements? Were their gestures wide, flowing and open or were they tight, jerky and closed?
As you observe others, you can identify some common signs and signals that give away whether they are feeling confident or not. Typical things to look for in confident people include:
* Posture – standing tall with shoulders back.
* Eye contact – solid with a ‘smiling' face.
* Gestures with hands and arms – purposeful and deliberate.
* Speech – slow and clear.
* Tone of voice – moderate to low.
As well as deciphering other people's the body language, you can use this knowledge to convey feelings that you're not actually experiencing.
For example, if you are about to enter into a situation where you are not as confident as you'd like to be, such as giving a big presentation or attending an important meeting, you can adopt these ‘confidence' signs and signals to project confidence.

tranquility
God teaches us to live peaceful lives. We are not meant to be here complaining, arguing, and living in stress. SO LET US BE AT PEACE!!!! If you knew you could let go of all the
stressing and complaining you do, why wouldn't you. I know it can be hard to change life habits, but like I always say, you can do all things through him who gives us strength. If you believe it then you can achieve it.
What the Bible says about Peace
How can I find peace?
"Quit quarrelling with God. Agree with Him and you will have peace at last. His favour will surround you if you will only admit that you were wrong." Job 22:21, TLB
Peace is making things right with God.
"So now, since we have been made right in God's sight by faith in His promises, we can have real peace with Him because of what Jesus Christ our Lord has done for us." Romans 5:1, TLB
Peace is a gift from God.
"I am leaving you with a gift—peace of mind and heart! And the peace I give isn't fragile like the peace the world gives. So don't be troubled or afraid." John 14:27, TLB
Peace results from obeying God's law.
"Great peace have they who love Your law, and nothing can make them stumble." Psalm 119:165, NIV
Peace is a worthwhile objective.
"Let us therefore make every effort to do what leads to peace and to mutual edification." Romans 14:19, NIV
Peace is security.
"Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: 'May those who love you be secure. May there be peace within your walls and security within your citadels." Psalm 122:6-7, NIV
Once I find peace, how do I keep it?
"He will keep in perfect peace all those who trust in Him, whose thoughts turn often to the Lord! Trust in the Lord God always, for in the Lord Jehovah is your everlasting strength." Isaiah 26:3-4, TLB
Happiness comes from working for peaceful relationships.
"Happy are those who strive for peace—they shall be called sons of God." Matthew 5:9, TLB5
| Meaning of Peace 1. The absence of war or other hostilities. 2. An agreement or a treaty to end hostilities. 3. Freedom from quarrels and disagreement; harmonious relations: roommates living in peace with each other. 4. Public security and order: was arrested for disturbing the peace. 5. Inner contentment; serenity: peace of mind.4 |
| Jesus on Peace "Ye have heard that it hath been said, An eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth: But I say unto you, That ye resist not evil: but whosoever shall smite thee on thy right cheek, turn to him the other also. And if any man will sue thee at the law, and take away thy coat, let him have thy cloak also. And whosoever shall compel thee to go a mile, go with him twain. Give to him that asketh thee, and from him that would borrow of thee turn not thou away. Ye have heard that it hath been said, Thou shalt love thy neighbour, and hate thine enemy. But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you; That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust." (Matthew 5:38-45) |
Jesus' Greeting: Shalom
On the morning of the Resurrection Christ greeted those gathered in the upper-room with a double Shalom, Shalom (peace be unto you - KJV), giving a whole new meaning to that word. The Hebrew word "shalom" conveys what God planned for the creation. Shalom means that people are in a good relationship with God, with themselves and their bodies, with their neighbours (all other people), and with the earth. For people to be in shalom means that their life is balanced and that they relate to the whole of what surrounds them with a peaceful spirit. Humans were the most special part of God's creation. However, in Old Testament days there was a lot of bloodshed, mind-numbing atrocities, rape and war after war. There are also many beautiful images and visions of peace in the Old Testament. The most well-known may be a description of the peaceable kingdom in Isaiah 11, with lines that include, "The wolf shall live with the lamb" (verse 6).6,7
